Claire has worked in Family Law since 1990. Claire’s career has taken her from the challenges of being Head of Department in a high street firm to starting a niche mediation firm. She is one the founders of the Portsmouth, Chichester & South Downs Collaborative Law Group, which she continues to help drive forward and is well known locally for her commitment to alternative methods of dispute resolution. Claire continues her legal practice in her own firm.
She is a qualified family Mediator, a specialist in Child Consultation and a collaborative lawyer (all with Resolution), and is also a qualified civil mediator. Claire is a PPC for members of the mediating community.
In 2013 Claire qualified as an Arbitrator, enabling her to hear evidence, adjudicate and produce a binding result in cases involving children and matrimonial finances. Claire qualified as a Parenting Co-Ordinator in 2019 which enables her to assist those with an agreement or order implement the same, rather than them being dropped once the proceedings have concluded.
In November 2018, Claire was invited to join the Family Justice Council, an advisory body sponsored by the Ministry of Justice which promotes an inter-disciplinary approach to family justice for the best possible results.
Her wide knowledge of how the legal profession works especially for family lawyers, puts her in a perfect position to be able to help other family solicitors and professionals to offload work related stresses and problems, explore dilemmas and test drive solutions in a setting outside the daily firefighting workplace environment. Claire can help you work through your worries and concerns, without judgement, enabling you to think about the options and pathways with a clear head.
